Origin Piece VI — In Her Light

In Her Light is a large-scale portrait measuring 100 × 160 × 4 cm, built through colour rather than likeness alone. The face emerges from fields of warm orange, pink, green and muted earth tones, while the surrounding darker forms pull the figure forward into the light. Natural skin colour gives way to an expressive palette in which colour becomes a way of describing presence, character and emotion. Painted in 2020, the work predates Baldr | Authored Work. It was later selected as Origin Piece VI, reflecting the idea at the heart of the Origin Pieces: that an existing work can become an origin when it begins a new creative lineage. The original was gifted by the artist and is held in a private collection.
