Origin Piece I — Marked Sleeves

Origin Piece I marks the beginning of the Baldr practice in garment form.

The work consists of a varsity jacket with sleeves hand-painted directly onto leather. The composition was developed in full on paper before any paint was applied — dragon, phoenix, twin koi, and floral structures arranged as a continuous sleeve narrative.

The figures draw from Japanese tattoo iconography, not as decoration but as structural language. Each element was positioned to control flow, weight, and negative space across the arm. Movement was composed before it was executed.

The transfer from paper to leather was done manually. No projection. No enlargement. The surface received the drawing line by line before paint was introduced.

Once applied, the intervention became permanent.

The jacket is produced once. It will not be repeated.

From this work, subsequent garments may derive. Fragments are translated into the Origin Collection — not as replicas, but as carriers of the original composition.

The origin remains singular.
