Description
The floral composition featured on this garment originates from the full sleeve layout of Origin Piece I — Marked Sleeves.
The lotus, peony, and lily are not treated as ornament, but as structural elements within the design. Each flower anchors a different part of the composition:
The lotus provides grounded symmetry and calm surface structure.
The peony introduces density and layered volume.
The lily adds directional movement through its extended form.
Together, they create visual pauses within the more dynamic figures of dragon, phoenix, and koi. Their placement controls rhythm, contrast, and negative space across the sleeve.
In the original work, these elements were hand-painted directly onto leather.
