The twin koi featured on this garment originate from the full sleeve composition of Origin Piece I — Marked Sleeves.
Drawn in reference to Japanese tattoo iconography, the two koi are positioned in circular opposition — each moving against the other while maintaining equilibrium. The composition emphasizes rotation, flow, and contained tension rather than confrontation.
In traditional symbolism, koi represent perseverance and transformation. In this composition, the focus lies in duality — mirrored movement held within structural boundaries.
In the original work, the koi were hand-painted directly onto leather as part of the full sleeve layout.
